Privacy Policy

What we collect
- Account info: email, name, and authentication identifier (via Clerk).
- Story inputs: text prompts and any reference media you upload.
- Generated outputs: images, audio, and video produced by the Service.
- Payment metadata: handled by Stripe; we never see card numbers.
- Usage data: render counts, error logs, IP, approximate country derived from that IP, language, App Store region, time zone, and basic device info.
How we use it
- To run renders, store your library, and bill you accurately.
- To diagnose bugs, prevent abuse, and improve quality.
- To send transactional emails (receipts, account alerts).
We do not sell your data and we do not use your private inputs to train external AI models.
Face data
The photos you upload usually show faces, often your own. This section says exactly what happens to them.
- What we collect: the photograph itself, nothing derived from it. We do not create a faceprint, a face template, a face geometry map or any other biometric identifier, and we never run face recognition to work out who someone is.
- Why it leaves your device: a model has to see the face to draw a character who resembles that person and to animate them in each scene.
- Who receives it: Cloudflare, which stores it; OpenRouter and its model provider OpenAI, which read it once to write a one-line description of who is in the picture; BytePlus, ByteDance's cloud, which draws the character; and fal.ai, which animates that character in each scene. Replicate receives it only when one of those models is unavailable and we fall back to it. Each is contractually bound to process it only to produce your video, under protections equal to those described here.
- Training: none of these companies use your photos to train their models, and neither do we.
- Where it is stored: Cloudflare R2 object storage, encrypted at rest.
- How long we keep it: your original uploads and finished videos stay in your library until you delete them, which you can do at any time. Closing your account removes your personal data within 30 days.
- Sharing: we never sell your photos, and we never share them with anyone beyond the processors named above.
The Remiku app asks you to agree before the first photo leaves your device, and names these companies when it asks. You can withdraw that agreement at the bottom of the privacy screen in the app; the next video asks again.
Third-party processors
To deliver the Service we share data with:
- Clerk — Authentication.
- Stripe — Payments and subscription management.
- OpenRouter / OpenAI — Reads each uploaded photo to write the one-line description your story is written from.
- BytePlus (ByteDance) — Draws your character from the photo you upload.
- fal.ai — Animates each scene. Runs the MiniMax H3 Max video model.
- Replicate — Fallback image and video model inference.
- ElevenLabs — Voice synthesis.
- Cloudflare — DNS, CDN, and DDoS protection.
Using Remiku from another assistant
Remiku can be used from inside another AI assistant, such as ChatGPT. When you do:
- What reaches us: the idea you describe for your video, the style and length you pick, and the network address the request arrives from. Nothing else.
- What does not: your account with that assistant, your name, your email, your conversation, and your photos. Photos are only ever uploaded on remiku.com or in the Remiku app.
- The link you are given holds an unfinished draft that belongs to nobody until the first browser opens it. Treat it as private, and do not post it.
- The idea you describe is sent to our writing model, as it is when you type it on the site, and the draft is deleted with the rest of your data on request.
Retention
Your uploaded photos and generated videos are kept until you delete them or close your account — there is no automatic expiry. You can delete any video at any time from your library. Closing your account removes your personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons.
AI-generated content disclosure
All video outputs from Remiku are AI-generated. They are creative works and should not be treated as factual representations.
Right to delete
To request deletion of your data, email [email protected].
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), you may request access, correction, deletion, or export of your personal data. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
Remiku is not intended for users under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child, we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice.
